Seafood Industry Australia ‘Pro Tem’ Director Selection 2017

Nominations are now being sought for the ‘Pro Tem’ Directors of Seafood Industry Australia (SIA).

All pledged financial members of SIA are eligible to nominate an individual/s for the Board.

A pledged financial member is a person or organisation that has submitted a completed Letter of Intent to the USI Project Manager via email or mail.

Nominations close on Wednesday 25 January 2017 at 5pm AEDT.

Background

The United Seafood Industries (USI) Project has surpassed the minimum funding target required by 16 December, and so the process of establishing SIA as a legal entity has begun. In order to build a national peak body that will create value for its members, we need to select the Pro Tem Directors
of SIA.

It is envisaged that the individuals selected to serve as Pro Tem Directors will go on to be the Inaugural Directors of SIA once the organisation has been incorporated and its constitution adopted.

SIA will have a strategic board of seven directors.

The successful candidates will serve a two or three year long term, with direct costs associated with participating in the work of the Board (e.g. travel) to be met, and a modest fee paid to Directors and to the Chair. These fees are yet to be confirmed.

What do you need to do to nominate?

To nominate for the Board, simply download and complete the Pro Tem SIA Director Nomination Form. You will also need to submit a copy of your curriculum vitae.

Your nomination will require the signed support of a pledged financial member of SIA.

Selection Process and Timeline

You will receive a confirmation that Inovact has received your Nomination  Form and relevant documents by email. Therefore, if you are submitting your application via post, it is vital that you list an active email address with your contact details in the Nomination Form. 

 

After nominations have closed on the 25th of January 2017, a Selection Committee will review applications.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and interviewed in February 2017. It is expected that successful candidates will be notified in March 2017.
